I have always been fascinated by American Indian people, their way of life and traditions. There is a wonderful book called ‘The North American Indian’ based on the work of Edward S Curtis who from 1895 spent 30 years visiting American Indian tribes and documenting their lives through photographs. This is a painting based on the photo of Eskadi, an Apache Headman.
